Linkwriter® Wireless Pen Solution
The FamHost® Linkwriter is a complete digital pen solution. The
forms can be transmitted through a Bluetooth enabled phone, wireless
laptop, tablet PC, or desktop. The form and data is processed and
then can be viewed within seconds from a Famhost hosted
application, any email address, or into your computer or network
server.The user simply fills out an
invoice, inventory form, or whatever you want to enable as usual.
The pen records what is written and then, using Anoto® technology,
converts the data to text or numbers to populate the database.
When using a digital pen and regular paper printed with a
special background, a tiny camera in the pen registers the pen's movement
across the grid surface on the paper and stores it as series of map
coordinates. These coordinates correspond to the exact location of the
page you’re writing on. Instead of having to retrain your technicians and
provide them with expensive hardware, they can continue to simply fill out
your forms as usual, using an inexpensive digital pen.
When the user checks the SEND box, the pen is instructed send the sequence
of map coordinates, which are translated into an image of exactly what was
written. The Famhost system enables you to link the document or form
to your customer record, invoice, vehicle file, employee file or whatever
you want. It time stamps when the the customer signed the document, when
the employee signed the document and much more. Fields on the form can be
programmed to link to your database, so by simply touching a part
description, the pen will enter the part number.
The data is stored both as
an image (eliminates scanning) and also as data. That means that the text
is converted automatically to input directly into your databases. Imagine:
